Author: Laurie Grant

THESE WERE DANGEROUS TIMES and none knew it better than Brys de Balleroy as he played a deadly game in the service of his queen. 'Twas an honorable but lonely life, until the night the Lady Gisele stood naked and determined by his bedside.

Gisele de L'Aigle would be no man's property, yet she'd brought upon herself the royal decree that would see her wed tot he Baron of Balleroy. And though her spirit rebelled, Brys had saved her from certain death, and roused her passion in a way no man had done before.

Compelling, intriguing and fast paced, My Lady Reluctant by Laurie Grant is a medieval romance story following the lives of Brys and Gisele- met through fate, engaged in service to an entitled monarch and married through unfortunate circumstances.

After Brys rescued The lady Soinne, he vows to protect her until his dying breath. This oath follows the duo as they survive in court and as London revolted against her Queen.

As they obey their orders to check their enemies’ camp, Brys and Gisele traveling as a fast married couple, gradually make the leap from mere desires and curiosities to a love that heals and soothes.

This author craftily thrills you with this plot- combines politics, deception and romance that would keep any reader hooked and flipping until the last page.

I liked the characters, but most especially their relationship completely wowed me. Knowing and accepting parts of each other that were deal breakers was beautiful to witness. No games with these two as they immediately fall hopelessly and carelessly in love with each other.

I enjoyed reading Brys and Gisele’s story although it took me awhile to complete it- not because anything was wrong with it, but because it was a goddamn task to read that ancient English blah blah.

you would enjoy this. i promise!
