What Manner Of Love Is This?

There’s a song by Kari Jobe that always makes me stop and think. It says, “What love is this that You gave Your life for me and made a way for me to know You?” Every time I hear it, I’m reminded of the great love Jesus showed us.

The Bible says Christ died for us while we were still sinners. He didn’t wait for us to be perfect or to get things right. He gave up His life even though there was nothing in it for Him.

When Jesus came to save us, people didn’t believe in Him. They didn’t see Him as the Savior. Instead, they laughed at Him, beat Him, and even betrayed Him. But still, He didn’t give up. He could have walked away and said, “These people don’t care about what I came to do.” But He didn’t. He went all the way—to the cross.

That kind of love is hard to understand. Imagine trying to help someone, and they keep pushing you away or hurting you. Most of us would stop trying. But Jesus didn’t stop. He loved us even when we didn’t love Him back.

These days, many people only love when they have something to gain. But God’s love is different. He had nothing to gain, but He gave everything. He gave His Son to die for us, to save us from sin, guilt, and the punishment we truly deserved.

Even now, many still reject His love. But He gave it anyway.

The Bible says, “No greater love has anyone than this, that a man would lay down his life for his friends.” That’s what Jesus did. And that is the greatest kind of love.

As we remember what Jesus did for us this Good Friday, may His love stay in our hearts. May it remind us of the truth—how deep, how real, and how powerful His love truly is.
