AN ODE TO MY FIRST KISS !!!
I still remember my first kiss  I had just turned ten then  I still remember the tingles  On my lips , riz on knees  The fleeting feelings  Felt so much like heaven    So heavenly I wanted to remain there  Wrapped tight in the cuddles of my dreams  Romanced by my wild fantasies  At least the shattered pieces  Of me only found peace  In that place    The safe space of my imaginations  Where my hopes and aspirations  Received life and a voice  Where gunshots turned to groundnuts  For I and my numerous lovers  To Flesh up, for the next day   Where we wore more skins  Than the skeletons in our rusty cupboards  Where Survival ceased to be a rival Maybe not a friend but not yet a foe  So i curled on my big toes  Waiting , nibbing but just before Climax    As usual, the sound of my country's chaos  Would fling me back to the sunny hot realities  To never forget the pains of our handcraft identities  That in our land , here in this land  Dreams will remain nothing but dreams  Just as surreal as my first kiss with bliss  At age ten till a-teen that never came to pass ...   This is an Ode to my First Kiss   #Nigeria #Poems #Peddlon    You can check my other works via_   FB-https://www.facebook.com/share/1EjJS3k3me/?   https://www.youtube.com/@ChineyeGift_EdeAni   © I remain Gift EdeAni, I Pitch, I Speak and I Impact lives with words.

FERVENT !
(1st Snippet)   Free Events has killed many men that weren't Fervent .  Fervently built in the spirit But whenever such happens we first point  This Poem is a Free Verse  A free verse inspired by the heavens  Echoed through my voice to us .  I mean you and I .    There are three types of believers in the world  The Cold hearted believers The weather for two believers And the Rababa eh believers  The last ones are always on fire and I'm one of them . We are the pace setters  The preachers , actors and professors  We are the fervent ones in the body of Christ... MASK OF SHAME !
Today is the day I take off this mask of Shame  Today is the day I quit this blame game  Since 1960 , I played the victim  Still on still nothing come out .    So listen ,  I was only seven  When he visited me in my nap  Day one he left me bleeding  From then on , 247  He made it a duty to bridge the gap    Probably if I had listened  I would be currently singing a different a song  Come think of it the truth was bare all along    We children then called him Uncle Ben  Tru Tru na so im tin big pass Ben Ten  Did I tell you they secretly called him Tpain  No wonder all he did was to cause me pain .    At Eighteen my anguish knew no bounds  Don't call me bitter , when you were no there  Don't call me feminist , when the odds aren't fair    I no say you I no get evidence  But are my scars not enough  You still come here to ask me  Diddy or did he not do it ?  Maybe you're blind because even my baby's oil are smeared everywhere .  Not once , not twice but for 6 decades  He sucked me dry until right before my eyes  I watched my things fall apart .    #Day5Consistencychallenge #Poetry #Peddlon #GiftEdeAni    You can check my other works via -    FB-https://www.facebook.com/share/1EjJS3k3me/?    YT-https://www.youtube.com/@Gift_EdeAni   © I remain Gift EdeAni, I Pitch, I Speak and I Impact lives with words.

CHILD ABUSE RESPECTS NO GENDER !
"Silent Scars: How Male Child Abuse Hurts Us All"      Society tells boys to “Man up,” silencing millions of male survivors of child abuse.   While girls’ protection is prioritized, boys who endure rape or molestation face disbelief, shame, or jokes.    The Sad Truth is that Broken Boys never really MAN UP .    We seem to not realize as humans , as parents, as women and society that we Pay the Price for this misguided act whether or not we like it .    Because for every Broken Boy we let Grow Up , we add one more Broken Man to our world . Tomorrow we wonder , why the steady influx of psycho men, broken relationships, and the cycle of pain we rarely discuss .    This issue may not be all there is to it , but this surely is huge part of it .      Personally, I have garnered over the years Shattering stories like ; - A mentor of mine few years ago, who was raped by his maid as a child, he spent decades frightening away from intimacy.     - Also a good friend of mine, who was molested by his spiritual leader in church as a teenager . He still struggles to trust anyone.     Dear Reader,    Their stories aren’t rare, they’re only the tip of an iceberg.       But sadly the cycle continues because we continue to have,   1. Neglectful Parents: Absent guardians leave boys vulnerable to predators (maids, mentors, relatives).   2. Toxic Stereotypes: “Boys can’t be victims” and “men always want sex” silence survivors.   3. Failed Systems: Churches, schools, and laws often protect abusers, not victims.   4. Cultural Taboos: In Africa and beyond, male pain is seen as weakness.     This Issue keeps digging in like Cankerworms, today we have; - Difficult Friendships: Survivors isolate themselves, fearing judgment.   - Traumatized Mindsets: Shame fuels anger, addiction, or emotional numbness.   - Failing Marriages: Intimacy becomes terrifying—60% of male survivors avoid relationships (2020 study).   - Broken Faith: Abuse by spiritual leaders destroys trust in God and community.     I think it's high time we collectively make efforts to fix this mess gradually through;   1. Open Talks: Share survivor stories (MenToo) to break stigma.   2. Reform Systems:      - Laws must recognize male rape.      - Churches/schools need strict anti-abuse policies.   3. Teach Early: Kids need lessons on consent, boundaries, and how to report abuse.   4. Support Survivors: Free therapy hotlines and peer groups to combat loneliness.   5. Parent Better: Fathers, model vulnerability. Moms, listen without judgment.     Pleading Finally to us all , I say:   This isn’t just a “male problem.” Every silenced boy becomes a man fighting invisible battles. Let’s rewrite the rules:   - To parents: Let your son cry. His pain is valid.   - To leaders: Protect people, not reputations.   - To survivors: You are not broken. Healing is possible.     “The wound is not your fault, but the healing is your right.”   SEIZE that Right , don't betray your chance at a Happy Life .    I love you!    Want to add your voice? Share a line, statistic, or personal touch to make this resonate deeper. Let’s keep it human, urgent, and hopeful.    I remain Gift EdeAni, I Pitch, I Speak and I Impact lives with words .    #GiftEdeAni #Day4ConsistencyChallenge #ChildAbuse #Writer #SpokenWordArtist #Thoughtleader #Peddlon
