The Hard Truth About Selling Online
LoaderProcessing...

A few years ago, when I started selling online, I thought, "If I just start posting, people will start buying."๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Now? It’s not funny anymore.

I kept posting for over 30 days with little to no results—until I attended an event where we were taught how to actually market online.

You hear people say, "Just bring your business online," and you think it’s easy, right?

Well, let me tell you the truth.

You’re in for something deeper.

It’s like opening a shop on your street and hoping that just because people walk past, they’ll buy from you.

If it were that easy, everyone would be making millions by now.

Digital marketing is beyond posting

It’s about getting people to care—because once they do, that’s when you start seeing results.

Let me ask you this:

The first time you bought something online, what was going through your mind?

And now, what makes you keep going back to buy from the same vendor?

If you really want to sell online, you need to ditch some things and start doing it the right way.

Beyond the usual “People buy from those they know, like, and trust," here’s what you need to understand:

  1. Nobody cares about your product—yet.

Harsh? Maybe.

But think about it—you scroll past millions of posts daily. Offers, discounts, giveaways… and yet, you didn’t stop at my perfume collection or my LinkedIn offer.

Why?

Because people don’t care about products. They care about themselves.

You’re reading this now because, at this moment, you care. You’re ready to figure out how to get people to notice what you sell.

And that’s the key—the moment people see themselves in your content, you’ve got their attention.

  1. People don’t buy products; they buy feelings.

I recently purchased a video editing course—not just because I wanted to learn, but because I wanted to feel like a pro by the end of it. (Well, that’s what the ad made me believe. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ)

Now, think about the last thing you bought online.

You didn’t just buy it because it was “nice.” You bought it because it made you feel something—excited, secure, confident, or maybe even relieved.

That’s the secret sauce of marketing. If your content doesn’t make people feel, they won’t buy.

  1. Trust is built before the sale happens.

People don’t buy from strangers.

If they don’t trust you, they won’t buy from you—simple.

And trust isn’t built in a day.

It comes from showing up consistently, sharing value, proving that you know your stuff, and actually caring about your audience.

If I come to your space online and I see just product

Well, I am already thinking something off about this person.

At the end of the day, selling online isn’t about tricks or hacks.

It’s about connection.

The brands that win aren’t the ones shouting the loudest.

They’re the ones making people feel seen, heard, and understood.
